The accidental book thief

In the past two years I can count the number of non-school related books I've read on one hand, hell, probably on one finger. I generally feel a surge of wanting to read in the warmer months because as a kid I would stick a lawn chair in the sparse shade of a Palo Verde tree and hide away with snacks, reading voraciously for hours.

Best snack foods while reading:

Popsicles (I only got Dole Fruit-n-Juice, but I believe all popsicles will work)
Apples and peanut butter
Assorted other fruits, but not grapes because it's difficult to read and pluck them to make sure they are not mushy or weird

This term for school has been alternately relaxed and intense, much like having a job. When you have work to do it's a lot of work, but there isn't any busywork or bullshit like that. All in all, I have enjoyed that aspect of the class very much. That, and the fact that I am only taking *one* class instead of two, provided a lot of downtime which meant I could get caught up on my reading.

Over memorial day weekend I went to Amber and Ryan's house and perused their books, of which there are many. I know I have a load of books I haven't read, but other people's reading choices are always so much more interesting as they provide insight into personality.

I've already read three books since then and as I was just finishing Bradbury's "Illustrated Man," I thought I needed some fresh books to enjoy.

So, Amber, Ryan, if you read this anymore, here's what I think I took from you:

1) Snowcrash. (reading it next, probably will start next week)
2) The Tesseract (not, as I'd hoped, a Sci-Fi book, but still really good! I'm enthralled)
3) Something else - don't know what.
