The first shot of morphine

is always better than the second one, because that buttcheek isn't really expecting the shot and so you can keep it relaxed throughout.

The second shot though usually comes immediately after the first one since for me they have to break up the dosage to pump me full of enough of the stuff to get my migraines to even begin to go away, so for shot #2, buttcheek #2 is already a little bit tense before the needle even goes in.

This means I practice active relaxation. You know, breathing and what not. But still, my little bum clenched a little and it kind of stung, on that second shot.

What was really bad, was the third shot which brought me up to a whopping 11mgs of morphine and was given to me in the same buttcheek as the second shot (Lefty). I physically jolted and clenched my entire body, including my hamstring. Whoops.

I was a bleeder.

It hurt.

'Til the morphine kicked in that is.
